A number system based on the base 10. The number system we use everyday for counting is a decimal number system. Each digit in a number represents a multiple of a power of 10. The following example shows the relationship between the position of a digit and the power of 10 it is to be multiplied by:
321 = 3×10^{2} + 2×10^{1} + 1×10^{0}
